For What It's Worth
Yes, upon the hills
and tend of time

Life's winds upheld me
held me -- tho' supine

And, in time alone
for what it's worth

they tossed me, na´ve,
through the years -- I'd carved
since birth..

my greatest mistakes.

No, beneath the waves
and rush of time

Death's currents submerged me
merged me -- and sublime

And, in time alone
for what it's worth

they tossed me, quietus,
for all the years -- I'd tapped
the firth..

abstruse and ruinous, divine afflatus --

at its estimable source,
to till the famished artist's mind
for all its worth.
